~HOW LIT CIRCLES WORK!~
Lit Circles are small group assignments where two or more students choose a
book to read over a period of time. The teacher assigns the books, while the students work through the different roles of the packet and present their understanding about the assigned section in the book.
In a Lit Circle Packet, there are different job assignments in which each page requires a different task to complete. For each Lit Circle page, students are to read the assigned pages that the group agreed on. Afterwards students will organize different roles for each week, so group members will not have the same role during the same week.
After the role is approved by the tutors and the notes are completed, each student will present their assigned job in a tutorial fashion.
If summaries are not completed, there will be a loss of points in the grading section of the packet for "Lit Job".
WARNING: Your teacher may give you a pop quiz to test your understanding of that section. Sometimes key details mentioned during the discussion could appear on AR Test, that is mandatory after the book is finished. When each student has finished presenting, the tutors will come by and score your papers
accordingly.
